Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Grandparent's Rights

My ex husband plead guilty and was sentenced to 7 years in TDCJ for a sex offender crim, I hired an attorney and we filed a motion with the court to have his parental rights terminated. They WERE terminated in June 08, in Dallas County. I told my ex M-I-L that I thought it was best if my children had nothing to do with her because she had lied to me and kept the fact he was arrested 6 months prior from me. My children have never lived with her or anything like that. She called 2 months ago and i told her no she could not talk to them or see them. I thought I had made my point but now she is sending things in the mail. I of course refused them without even opening. My question is WHAT do I need to do so she will leave us alone? If I am correct( from what my atty said) she has no rights in Texas because the state terminated her sons rights. Thanks for replying. GOD bless.

Re: Grandparent's Rights

If she is treatening you, you can file for a restraining order or protective order.

If she just keeps mailing presents to the kids, either keep them, give them to charity or refuse to accept them.

Good luck!
