Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Legal Representation

Is it legal to have a person represent you in a consultative role if he states he graduated law school in 1985 but is currently not licensed? I have a paternity fraud case in Ohio (I live in Texas) and the divorce decree came from Oklahoma. He lives (or so he says) in Atlanta, GA although his phone area code is for Los Angeles, CA. He wants me to wire him $750.00 to start proceedings, but will not give me a physical address to send it to. Do you think he is trying to scam me?

Re: Legal Representation

I have no idea, but you need a lawyer that is physically located and licensed in Ohio, if that is where the case is pending. (Although the OK court may still have jurisdiction).
