Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Is there a minimum a judge is supposed to order for child support? My ex wife and I have 3 kids who I have custody of. She has 2 more. The judge dropped the support for me from what I thought was the minimum 240 a month to 80. Does a judge have the power to set support at what HE thinks is fair? I always thought there were rules they had to abide by.

The judge has broad discretion to deviate from guidelines if the judge thinks that the application of guidelines would be unfair or unjust. There is no minimum, although lots of attorneys misread the law and think there is.
