Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Molestation

My son from previous marriage is 6 and was molested by his half brother age 15. The father knew of things that his older son was doing like porn, materbation,he knew other signs and choose to overlook things and thought boy will be boys.

The older brother has confesed but I would like to know if I have a right as the mother to do something about the dad. I believe he is at fault to and frankly I just feel like it is not safe for my son to grow up around someone who would rather turn his head than be a dad. I feel like it contributed to my son being molestated. Do I have a right to keep my sone from him? He does not think he did one thing wrong and what's done is done. My sons future is at risk. We have a long recovery process anyway. What can I do?

Thank You,

Kamie

Re: Molestation

What your son's 15 year old sibling did is a crime. His dad may also be charged with a crime. You have a legal obligation to report the abuse to the appropriate authorities or you may be charged with a crime as well. Contact your local police or the Texas Department of Families and Protective Services today.
