Can an attorney send a subpoena at 8:15 am to my office, demanding me to be at court at 8:45 am without any knowledge beforehand, and doesn't a judge have to sign it?

Re: subpoena

A lawyer can issue a subpoena without court approval.

On such short notice, it would be best to appear or have a lawyer appear on your behalf. At that time you can protest the lack of notice and ask for the matter to be reset with respect to your appearance.
