Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Visitation

My ex has never followed the visitation order we have. He usually picks up my son every other Saturday and brings him back on Sunday, but has never spent the holidays or vacation time with him yet I have to wait for him to let me if he will pick up my son up on his scheduled time. Is there anything I can do so that visitation is limited to what he has been doing and we don't have to wait for him? Does he lose the visitation rights he doesn't use?

Re: Visitation

More good advice from Ms. Langford. Try to get this resolved without going back to court, unless there are more issues than you listed.

Re: Visitation

You can continue this loose arrangement if you wish. If you want the structure of the possession order, then notify him in writing that in the future, all visitation will be according to the terms of the court's order. You can't force him to show up, but you can deny visitation for a period when he does not show up timely. (timely usually means within about 30 minutes of the scheduled time/date). Good luck.
