Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex wife is asking for extra child support. I already volunteered to pay the state maximum for 2 children and have never missed any payments, even though I did not have a job at the time she filed for divorce. She works part time from home, but doesn't make enough money to afford previous lifestyle from marriage. I gave her the home and almost all material things from marriage except my car, and enough money to pay off the entire mortgage of an expensive home and excess money to start her own business, which she was supposed to but she never did. Now she has a fully paid off home in a neighborhood that I cannot afford to buy in. I work full time and live in a rental apt. She goes on vacations 2-3 times a year for weeks at a with the children and claims she has no money. She refuses to give me account of how she is using the child support for the children. She never declared her income or assets that she has been accumulating during the divorce, so those were never disclosed. I believe she had saved up a significant amount of money during 20 years of marriage. Then she tells the children I am stingy and dont' care for them because I make a lot of money. This is causing the children doubt about their father, while she gets to enjoy life. What is legal advise?

Unfortunately this is a common issue for divorces. It often stems from taking the same community (mom and dad together) income and trying to support two households rather than just one. Therefore there are two electric bill, water bills, mortgages/rents, etc..

My best advise is to contact a local divorce lawyer. I am an Austin divorce lawyer and happy to offer a free phone or office cunsultation, feel welcome to call my office: 512-478-8080 or cell: 512-827-7548.
