finding if company that injures you has insurance

my grandmother was injured at a local gas station. the owner told her it was too bad and that he doesn't have insurance. how do i find out if he really does have insurance?

Sue him. If he has insurance, then they will be the ones that will hire his counsel, pay the bills, etc... If he doesn't have insurance, then your grandmother will be the new owner of that gas station.

Another option is to see what kind of station it is (Shell, BP, etc...) and contact their gas marketing division (or whatever that company calls it) and see if they have a certificate of insurance for that station. Many franchise agreements require this.

Regardless, you should talk to an attorney soon about this.

If she has serious injuries, call us or a lawyer who handles personal injury cases..if no insurance, they have a gas station, right?
