Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Blackballing

One year ago, I resigned my employment at a local hospital after 15 years of service. I resigned because I was denied a much deserved promotion. I filed a grievance regarding the promotion and upon doing so, I was counselled by the COO and his assistant for filing the grievance in the first place. I was told that I would never have a future with the organization, even after 15 years of excellent employment ratings because of the lack of loyalty I displayed when I filed the complaint. I was denied access to a HR consultant or Ethic officer during this counselling. I was well qualified for the position and was recommended by my retiring boss and many, many physicians, nursing directors, etc. I am now attending nursing school and was applying at several sister hospitals(same company with locations in town) for PRN(as needed) employment. However, I cannot even get a return phone call. Basically, I am being ''blackballed'' from the hospital system. Is this legal?

Re: Blackballing

Probably not...but you really need to get all employment policies of the employer..and visit a good employmnet lawyer in your area...and most of these cases are not on a contingency but rquire payment by employee...
