Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Bouncing paychecks!

I have worked at this establisment for a little over a yeah and have 3 paycheks bounce. Each time the employer pays the overdrafts at my bank and appologizes. The last time I was given $1000 cash to cover the charges and then when it still didnt cover it all she told me to recash my paycheck. I did. She had also told the bank officer that my to recash my paycheck to make up for the times it has happened. Many months later she came back wanting the money. Now my she said next paycheck is being held stating that the accountant wrote it off as I have recieved my paycheck early. I have bills due and a child who needs fed. Can she legally withhold my paycheck? If not what legal actions can I take? Oh by the way did I mention my employer is Mcdonalds?

Re: Bouncing paychecks!

Go to the Texas Workforce Commission and file a payday act claim. Bring your W-2 from 2005 so it will identify your employer. An employre cannot withhold or deduct from your paycheck wihout your written approval.

Why not look for another job?
