Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Improper job termination

Dec 19, 2005 over telephone, I was terminated from employment.Person who conducted this was vicepresident. Only reason given was ''desiring to go in different direction''! I was paid two weeks pay and sales commission for Dec. My age is 62, and have been employed since July 1998 by this firm. My question is do I have realistic hope of collecting commission for Jan? This was paid Feb 15 for sales written through Dec 31, 2005. Amount is approx $ 7500.00. I would like a letter written to my customers by Company acknowledgement of proper job performance and announcement of retirement.

Re: Improper job termination

Go to the Texas Workforce Commission immediately and file a Texas PayDay Act claim. You must do this within 180 days of the date you should have been paid the commissions.
