Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Final Commission Paycheck

I resigned from the company I was working for. I was paid commission only, but they did provide me with health insurance and a 401K program where the employer matched up to 3% of my contribution. I was owed several thousand dollars in commissions at the time I left. The owner communicated by email only and advised me that if I contacted any of the customers I had ever had contact with while employed, he would not pay me the remaining commissions I had coming. I have copies of the emails. I was forced to agree to these terms in order to get any money due me. As my customers made payments, he would make an automatic deposit into my bank acct for my commission. He did not issue me a ''final paycheck''. He quit paying me and when I checked with accounting, I was advised that I would not be receiving any more pay since I had broke the agreement, (which I did). Do I have any rights in getting the remaining commissions?

Re: Final Commission Paycheck

Probably...but you need to contact a lawyer to review the facts...and if you are owed anything, then make a demand, sue and probably collect..
