gender discrimination

yes i am a female andI recently been laidoff my last day at work is feb 29

there is two men with less senortiy than i have that was not laied off and wont be I have a year and 11 months senority they have less than 7 months

I was pick for the lay off because i didn't have the skills for the job they do one is running a saw that i have ask to be trained on in the past and was turn down the other is a welder they plant i work at started this thing called lean training apart of this lean workers was to be cross train in doing other jobs it was never done and we do have a unoin but was told there wasn't anything i can do

do i have a case?

You might have a case, especially if you can show that the male employees they kept got training that you had asked for but were not given. I'd be glad to discuss this with you further if you'd be interested.
