Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

pay or get fired

I work retail and one of my deposits has gone missing. I've been with the company for over a year and a half and have no record of wrongful conduct. There is no way to prove that I took it, or that I didn't take it, because the cameras, as it turns out, are dummies. Now they are threatening to terminate me if I don't pay the amount missing. Is that legal?

In Texas and most of the world, employers can fire with or without cause...so yes it is legal
