Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Hiring Question

I work weekends at a tv station as a contract employee. I applied for a full time job. Last week the executive producer called me to tell me he wanted to hire me full time for a different job. He told me what it paid and said we'd discuss the hours. I asked him if this was my job and I didn't have to interview for it. He said it was my job. He wanted me to call him the next day to find out when my first day would be. When he went to HR to find out when they wanted me to start, he said they got mad at him for giving me the job and told him that I have to interview and that they have other candidates and that the job was not guaranteed. So in the space of 24 hours I was given a job and had it taken back. I have since interviewed for the position. If I'm not hired, do I have a case against them?
