Re: Apartment lease agreement

If your lease has expired, then you are month-to-month, and they can increase the rent with 30 days notice. If it has expired, then the renewal lease they provide is an offer. You can accept it and stay, reject it and move, or counteroffer -- which they have the right to reject or accept. In the meantime you are month-to-month.

If your original lease provided the terms for any renewal leases, then show them your copy of the lease.
