Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Employment Contract Change

I am an RN, BSN that has worked for the local hospital for over10 years. Recently, administrative committee has changed the full time status from 32 hours per week to 36 hourse per week without notifying employees. When questions were asked the Director of Human Resources stated. You have to because we changed the policy. Is this legal?

Absent some contract with you or a union, the employer controls all rules and policies of employment. Sad but true.

Employers are generally allowed to alter the terms of employment unless restricted by law or contract. I'm not aware of a law prohibiting an increase in one's hours from 32 to 36.
