Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

My high school son almost lost his finger today in metal trades class following instructions given to him by his teacher, the school told me they are exempt from liability, is there any way around this?

Generally, public schools are only responsible for torts if it involves the use of a motor vehicle. I assume your son does not attend a private school. Look at whether the equipment was improperly designed or defective due to the manufacturer. If so, then you might have a claim against the manufacturer.
