Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

sidewalks

Who is responsible for injuries sustain on a sidewalk directly in front of a downtown building own by an indivdual business owner? If I am injured by tripping over a piece of concrete because the sidewalk concrete is crumbling and cracked, who is responsible for this condition? The city or the business owner? Thank you

Re: sidewalks

Generally, property owners are responsible for maintaining their property. Since this happened on commercial property, then a management company may be in charge of caring for the property and be responsible. A city, however, can obtain easements across private property and may also have a responsibility for sidewalks it builds on its easements. So, you may have three responsible parties.
