Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Summary Judgement

The defendant's attorneys had made me an offer of $25K and I countered and since I didn't settle for the 25K they filed summary judgement hearing. Can I request a mediation? what do I have to do now? Please advise. Thank you

Re: Summary Judgement

if you do not have a lawyer, get one. Apparently you do not know what the policy limits are? and defense will get summary judgment if not answered properly...or maybe accept the 25k..but call a lawyer now if you don't have one..

Re: Summary Judgement

You should consult (and probably hire) a personal injury attorney immediately (as in TODAY). Summary Judgments are very complicated and have very short deadlines to respond. If you miss the dealines or your response is not proper, the $25k is gone and your case will be gone as well. No "do-overs".

Feel free to call me to discuss it further. www.thebarberlawfirm.com. 972.231.5800.

Re: Summary Judgment

With all due respect, the real question is not "What do I have to do now?" The real question is, "What on earth are you doing trying to handle this on your own??" A layperson handling their own complex personal injury case is like someone performing their own home brain surgery. You certainly have the right to do it if you want to, but it's incredibly risky and most likely you will not come out with a very pleasant result. PLEASE--do yourself a favor: call me TODAY. Let me attempt to fix this for you before it is too late.
