Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Property tax foreclosure

I have 4 years school taxes 2005-2008 totaling $6000.00 that I am notified by certified mail must be paid in full by the 20th. Best I can come up with is maybe $2000.00 at the moment. Is there anything else I can do to force the collector to accept this down and take payments better yet is there anyway to reduce or remove the late fee's and penalties which equal $2000.00 of the total due?

It is probably too late, but it can't hurt to ask. Your best bet is to borrow the money elsewhere, but, if you can, avoid having the professional "tax consultants" pay taxes for you because you will either pay a hefty premium on top of what you already owe or lose the property to foreclosure.
