Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

I just found out that I owe $1500.00 in traffic tickets from 2010. I was arrested and served 60 days. I sent the city of Kemah, TX time served papers and i received no approval or denial of my request. The court clerk told me that it was denied because there was no hold on me at that time in 2010. I ask when was there a hold/warrant placed on me and am told it was issued Feb.2011. I was incarcerated from 1/2011 to 9/2011 and was released from Galveston Co. Jail with no holds, warrants, fines, etc. Also I was issued my TX ID with no problems. I have the court documents to show proof of my incarceration. I have paid my surcharge fees, taken drug offender course, paid re-instatement fee, and $2300.00 for court, extradition, and court appointed atty fees to Galveston County. The court clerk checked to make sure I had no other financial obligations, warrants, holds 9/2011 the day of my release.

You are not ENTITLED to credit unless the court to which you owe money for the traffic tickets had a hold on you while you were in custody. It does not matter if you were told there were no warrants, etc., that another jurisdiction could see and you were told otherwise.

You might try hiring a lawyer to present the information to the court. It is truly a waste of taxpayer money to have you sit out the fees.
