Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

I got pulled over in the end of January '13 by an officer I had met once before when I had made a call. The place where he pulled me over the second we met was only 0.06 miles from my house! I believe he waited near my house to give me this FAIL to Yield Right of the Way. I had asked for this badge number the first time we met because I thought he had not responded to my concern. He was very angry and stormed off that night. The problem I am having now is that this is a small town and I believe the court is trying to make it hard for me to handle this ticket. They know I need to move out of this small town ASAP because of the call I made that night (not related to the traffic ticket) when I first met the officer. How can I set a court date to enter my plea sooner than March or April? What are my options besides paying it and giving in on this injustice. The people are nice, but the people that work for this town like the police have been in on giving me a hard time. I gave a store manager feedback and a number of events have happened since. Right now I just want to enter a plea, not guilty, and move. I actually really do need to leave as I am not a US citizen. I would love to handle the case by mail.

Speculating on the reason you got the ticket or imputing some bad intent is not going to help you. The issue is whether they can prove you are guilty in court. The next issue is whether you can afford the cost of hiring an attorney to try the case for you.

Another option is to hire an attorney to get a decent plea bargain for you. It is almost never practical to try a traffic offense. Options include a deferred disposition sentence and a reduced fine. Since this is just traffic ticket, your attorney should .be able to appear in court for you.

Good luck!
