Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Estate Information wth surviving wife

Is there a time length or statue of limitations to claim money that belonged to my deceased husband.

His ex-wife owed him money from a divorce. She was to pay him an amount when his youngest son turned 18 but he died before then. Am I entitled to the money that was owed to him. He died 12 years ago and I never inquired about the money?

Re: Estate Information wth surviving wife

You are probably well outside the statute of limitations, unless the child turned 18 less than four years ago. That payment is an interest of your late husband's estate, and came due when the son turned 18. That's when the clock started running.
