Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

my mom got cancer. wanted to go do a will. step dad said if she did that means she was giving up. she wrote things down on paper he found out and got upset so she had neighbors help her do a video will. she had her house for 6 years when she remarried. her mom left her house to my mom. now my step dads daughter tells me they are selling my grandmothers house. can they do this or do they have to open probate first. i dont have money to fight this like he does. any ideas? my mom wanted me to have her house and my son to have the house she received from her mom. thank u

When a house is put on the market, a title company willl require probate...BUT it costs nothing in most cases to visit a local attorney to discuss probate...Lack of fund when one is talking about receiving assets is not a good reason for not trying..we are iin Dallas..but it is not that expensive to defend or to probate an estate
