Legal Question in Criminal Law in United Kingdom

hello.

there's a passage in the bible where god commands his follewers to kill anyone who tries to get them to worship another god (deuteronomy 13). what would happen if someone did this? would the fact they're following scripture excuse murder? don't worry, i'm an atheist, i'm just curious if religious rights can go that far.

shane.
