legacies in a divorce

i was left a legay while still married, i am now separated from my husband. is he entiled to any of this leagcy. i have the children and he doesnt pay maintenance, i have left the family home and bought my own property

the fact that you are separated from your husband but still married to him will mean that the legacy you have inherited will be considered a family asset and as such will be taken into consideration when deciding any financial settlement on divorce. This will however be only one of many factors to be considered.
