Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

child day care

I am court ordered to pay daycare and half of all work related day care for my 5 yr old daughter. Her mother is out of work and has been for quite some time. The mother is looking for a job through Easter Seals, who only spend 3 hrs a week with her directly. She has other tasks to perform in order to keep her active status. She, however refuses to look for work while my daughter is in school and still takes her to the sitter even though she does not work. The sitter is still charging full rate. Am I responsible for half of this even though it is not work related?

Re: child day care

You are responsible only for work related child care. Require you ex to provide proof of hours worked and coordinate with hours at day care.

You may want to consider requesting that if your child is in day care while you are available to watch her, that you get preference (saves on day care and more importantly the child will be with a parent.)
