Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My husband and I are trying to get divorced. He filed papers but I didnt agree with a couple things do we have to start over or can we file an ademdum to what he already did with the revisions?

File an Answer. Admit/Agree with the paragraphs you like and Deny the things you do not. As far as coming to a resolution, prepare a divorce stipulation / settlement agreement if you can modify the original papers so that you are both in agreement. Then the Judge can sign the new paperwork and everyone is happy.

If you and your husband have come to an agreement on what the new terms are, he can file an Amended Petition with the court and you sign the Acceptance, Consent, and Waiver. Just make sure the provisions of the Decree of Divorce match the provisions of the Amended Petition.
