Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

I work for commission at a seasonal job over the summer. my boss wasnt the most honest of people so One of the office girls gave me their password and username to allow me to check if what the boss claimed to be the accounts that i should be paid on are accurate. When I got my final pay check and it was short about a grand I called him on it. As a result he said he is going to try and press criminal charges. is this threatening and does he have a leg to stand on?

Tell your boss to pay immediately and provide a complete accounting or you will be the one to file a criminal complaint, as well as a complaint with the Utah Dept of Labor.
