Legal Question in Family Law in Vermont

Rights for Parents with mental health

Recently in the State of Vermont there has been an issue of a lot of families getting their children pulled from their homes and put into child services;one including myself. Where the parents are getting told nothing really except that their mental illnesses are preventing them from being proper parents for their children. From Bipolar to O.C.D and more. When the question arises of what was the concern of the child ..they being abused not cared for health wise or any type of neglect found?..My friends, myself and others are getting the same response ...that our mental illnesses are preventing or abilities to secure proper care for our children..no real evidence, and or explanations..so I am asking is there away we may fight and is this a form of discrimination?

There is certainly a way to fight for the rights to raise your child, but I am not a Vermont lawyer, so I can't tell you the process here.

In CA, the authorities that take the children have to start court proceedings immediately, give notice and an opportunity to be heard to the parents and the parent(s) can make their case in those proceedings.
