Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Judgment over 15 years

During a title search on my home last month, a 1987 judgment was found against me for $128.93 credit card debt, now over $300 with interst. I was never noticed because I moved from that address in 1984. I think the fees are annual fees/interest because the company did not properly close the account. The attorney who had the judgment issued said he didn't care because a sheriff said he posted the notice on the door. General District court says it's over 10 years and out of its jurisdiction. Circuit court says general district should rehear the case. How can this be resolved?

Re: Judgment over 15 years

Pay the $300. It's cheaper to do that than to fight it, and in any event posting is probably good service.
