Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

My son was charged with Possession on Marijuana,we went to court and apparently there was a technicality with some form that they did not give my son,The judge told us that i was nullified or something like that,but the judge warned us that if the DA wanted to pursuit further they can.What does Nullified mean,please help me.

You, undoubtedly, mean nolle prosequi or nolle prossed as it

is often times referred to, meaning, the charge/case was dismissed.
