Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Son in trouble in va,please help.

My son just get sent to jail today and the judge just said he is committed.first i''d like to know what that means and secondly he was charged with a felony robbery and misdemeanor assault by a mOb ,he is 15 yrs old and this is his first offense ever.can you please tell me what the sentencing guidelines is for those crime and what can i do to help him get out if there is any chance.HE PLEADED GUILTY AT THE PRE HEARING.CAN THE JUDGE JUST SEND HIM TO JAIL LIKE THAT.thank you very much.

Your juvenile son must have been represented by an attorney before he could've entered a plea of guilty to or been convicted of any of these serious offenses.

If the judge said he was committed, that most likely refers to the fact tht he was sentenced to a juvenile facility where he will probably remain until around age 21 or so.

Your other questions should be directed to the attorney who represented your son in these matters.
