Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have already gotten the divorce my ex- husband will not give me all the things in the agreement. Went to the court house to fine out that i need to ask for a show cause but only a Lawyer can do that.is this true and what can i do on my own and are their Lawyer that will work now and get paid went i do. not working now because of my heath.

Yes, in theory you could represent yourself in what is presumably the circuit

court which handled your divorce, but as a practical matter the average layperson is simply not going to know how to prepare and file the necessary papers to initiate this Rule to Show Cause (as to why the defendant should not

be found in contempt of court and be subject to appropriate sanctions) nor

to present and argue the matter before a judge of this circuit court.
