Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Visitation representation

I was represented by an attorney regarding my visitation case, which was filed by my ex, who resides in a different country. My son, who is 14 resides here in VA with me. The hearing date was set for July last year, but my ex asked for a date change, as his new wife was pregnant with complications. Since then, my lawyer did not contact me, and has never been very clear in her communication with me, thus I was planning to look for another lawyer. In the meantime, I recieved a notice from her that her retainer was finished, so she needed more money. I did not get in touch with her since there was no sign from my ex that he was going to come to USA. Even she did not try to contact me. However, his lawyer has not indicated that the case has been withdrawn.

Now I have recieved a notice from her stating that she has filed a motion to withdraw as my councel as I am not paying her.(I do not owe her any money) If I sign this document, what is the outcome? As far as I know, no new trial date has been set. Just a conference date.

Re: Visitation representation

If the document to which you refer is an agreed order for her withdrawal, the outcome is that your current counsel will be out of the case and you can hire someone new to replace her.
