Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

I had an agreement with someone to buy my car and they stopped paying. I tried to get the car back but they have hidden it from me. What are my rights? Can I report the car stolen? She refuses to give me the car back but hasn't paid me since June. What can I do?

So, who has the title to this vehicle and whose name is on it as the owner of record? If it's you, then you're the owner and are entitled to recover the vehicle by whatever reasonable means are available to you(including engaging the services of a repo man, if need be.)

However, if you ill-advisedly signed the title over to her, then she's the owner and you would likely have to sue her in your local general district court to recover a judgment against her for the outstanding balance owed on the vehicle + interest at 6%.
