civil suit against ex husband

Man got a divorce and was awarded truck in settlement. He did not remove ex from title. He went bankrupt. Truck was repoed and credit company is after ex for monies owed. Judge said to bad you are on title and he went bankrupt so you owe. Can ex take civil action against him for monies owed because he did not take her off title?

It depends on whether the obligation to pay or hold wife harmless on the truck loan was part of the property settlement agreement or divorce decree, and whether the bankruptcy was filed after October 2005. In general, if the answer to both is yes, the obligation to indemnify the ex-wife is not discharged. See a bankruptcy lawyer for details.
