I pack my things, get mover and storage. We try being civil but he won't give me any my money back. I pack small household stuff that he bought. It got moved w/ all other stuff. I try telling him I return it but still want my stuff. He finds 2 pair earrings worth $7500.00 that got left behind. Demands all his stuff, including gifts and things he said I could have. I say repeatly all along willing to return, even things given as gifts, just want my stuff too. He refuses to speak of anything other than demand his stuff in 2 days time. Re: return of personal property

Yes, go to the clerk's office of your local general district court and tell them that you want to file a warrant in detinue for the return of your property or, in the alternative, entry of a judgment in the amount of its fair market value against the withholder of the property. (Once he's served with papers, he'll likely have second thoughts about keeping your stuff and decide that there's an easier way to settle things.)
