I was convicted of dui manslaugter and now I am having a modify sentence hearing what is the purpose of the hearing , and what are the procudures?

This question is one that you should be putting to the presumably competent criminal defense counsel who represented you in this matter.

The purpose of a hearing to modify a sentence is just that: to modify or change(possibly to a more lenient one) the previous sentence which was handed down by a court which has jurisdiction over the matter and which has now taken under consideration the motion to modify.

The previously-mentioned defense counsel should be able to explain further and fill in any details

which are necessary to satisfy your inquiry.
