Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Temporary Protection Order

I was served a temporary protection order to stop trying to contact my ex-wife, this also included a 150yard distance from her residence. We had been sending emails back and forth to each other for several days. Can I at least send an email asking her to stop the protection order? I work for the government which has strict policy in regards to this matter. I could lose my job, but I don't think she is aware of that. I thought if she knew that, she would just let this go. I stopped a long time ago sending emails.

Re: Temporary Protection Order

Without knowing exactly what the order says, I can only speculate on the details in it. Generally, you can only communicate by legal process, i.e. filing a response to the petition. Most government agencies don't terminate employees because a protection order is entered against them. I'd need to know the particular agency and what your position is to render an effective opinion on the effect on your employment.
