Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

Postal address

My roommates exboyfriend (who never lived here) is using my address to get e.g. mail from credit card companys. I have at least 10 letters a week for him in the mail. My roommate asked him a few times to stop using my address but it's actually getting worse. How can I stop him using my address?

Re: Postal address

What a mess! You should write him a letter; you should tell him that you do not give him permission to use your address for any purpose, and tell him to knock it off. Send it certified return receipt requested and also first-class and keep a copy for your records with the certified number on it so you can track it.

You can take the business return mail envelopes and mail them back to the companies empty if that makes you feel better.

You can write to the "do not send junk mail" registry and ask to have your address removed from the list.

You can alert the post office that this person does not live there, and has never lived there, and demand that the post office return the mail as undeliverable or ask them to forward it to his new address.

Honestly, it would be easier to simply move. Hope this helps - Powell
