Re: Drivers Liscense, While Paying the Fine

This is a dilemma faced by a lot of people who have lost their driving privileges in Washington State. You cannot pay your fines if you dont work. But you cannot work if you lose your license.

Realizing this, many court systems around the state have instituted driver re-licensing programs. These programs let suspended or revoked drivers make payments and then they get their drivers license back immediately.

Usually you have to come up with a small down payment and then sign a promissory note for the remainder. Some of the programs also assist participants with money management classes, but these classes are usually optional.

You should contact the courts in your area where you have unpaid tickets to see if they have such a program.
