Husband died 4 days ago, however we had not lived together for 18 yrs. We were married 34 yrs on June 21. What are my rights as his widow, and do they superceed the will he left?

Re: Legal rights

You have rights. Get a lawyer. If you don't know one call your county Bar association and they'll help you.

One-half of his estate, in WA, is yours because it is community property, half of the other half is his to devise as he wishes, but the other half is yours too. Sorry that sounds so complex - but it is complicated. Please get a lawyer.
