Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

abandonment

The mother of my stepson has not seen or contacted him in 4 years. Our lawyer believes that giving visitation is best anyway. She is not an upstanding individual and i do not know how i feel about subjecting a 10yo to this. We are getting full placement and full custody. does this mean we can say where she takes him? I am considering getting another lawyer.

Re: abandonment

Under most circumstances the Court will require a reintegration period for a parent that has been absent for a lengthy period of time. Generally this means that initial visits are supervised for a period of time, followed by visitation periods that are unsupervised but of short duration without overnights.
