Signing over legal rights to a child

The father of my son wants to sign over all legal rights to his son. How do I go about receiving the proper paperwork?

It isn't usually possible for a person to just "sign over rights to a child". Both parents are legally responsible for the child and they cannot just stipulate that one of them is no longer liable. It is almost impossible to do this unless you have remarried and your new husband will simultaneously accept parental responsibility. If you are planning a stepparent adoption, you should have the assistance of an attorney who can guide you through it.
