Legal Question in Product Liability in Wisconsin

Injury from air bag deployment

My car ''touched'' the car in front of me at a stop sign at about 2 miles per hour and the air bag was deployed causing me injury to my jaw. General Motors is asking me for an amount for the settlement and I dont know what to ask for. I need some guidelines. Please advise. Thank you,

Lillie

Re: Injury from air bag deployment

After the 70's, courts and juries have gotten more conservative as to the amounts of damages to award in injury cases. It didn't take long for the large defendants to figure that out. As a result, large companies often thumb their noses at claims that they really don't have a lot to lose on, such as those under $10-20,000. Unless you have a lot of medical, lost wages, continuing pain, etc., your case probably fits into that category. We have seen cases where less than the medical is offered, and the company doesn't care if they are sued. The only way you can protect yourself is to see an experienced trial lawyer who can tell you whether your case has merit. If such lawyer is willing to take your case on a contingent fee, then you can be pretty sure you have a good case.
