Legal Question in Workers Comp in Wisconsin

Patients rights under Workers Compensation

If one treating doctor recommends back surgery for a work injury, and I refuse surgery, what consequences does that have in regards to any settlement or TTD payments from workers comp. I prefer conservative treatment(chiropractic) (second treating doctor).

Example; with surgery-able to resume past employment.

Without surgery- disabled from past and possibly any employment.

Re: Patients rights under Workers Compensation

Back related injuries can be major claims, due to the

fact that compensation is available for loss of future

earning capacity, unlike an injury to a limb, etc.

You therefore should have legal counsel to assist in

this decision. Penalties are possible for failure

to cooperate with treatment. Send a private e-mail for further detail
