Michelle Garmong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree from the University of California, San Diego (U.C.S.D.) in Urban Planning (Land Use - Real Estate) and completed graduate studies earning a Masters of Science Degree from University of Redlands as well as being conferred a Juris Doctor (law degree) from Southwestern University School of Law (1994).
She commenced private practice in Temecula, California in 1995 upon being admitted to the bar. Thereafter she was selected to be a Riverside County Deputy District Attorney, left private practice and was assigned to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Family Support Division, now called the Department of Child Support Services or D.C.S.S., and while there not only learned the processes and procedures utilized by the local child support agency, but she was responsible for a large caseload involving establishment of paternity, establishment and collection of child support and arrears, which included all enforcement action such as suspending driver's licenses, suspending professional licenses, attachment of bank accounts, wage assignments, etc., requiring her to be in a courtroom virtually daily on a range of cases ( @ 6 - 12 +/- court hearings/cases per day). As a result, she has an enormous amount of family law courtroom experience together with internal governmental experience on the establishment of divorce and family law issues, child support, child support collections, child support enforcement, child support arrears, the process used to suspend driver's licenses, wage assignments and garnishments and the other methods used by the Department of Child Support Services in the collection of child support. In addition, Michelle Garmong has extensive experience in the criminal courts as a former Deputy City Attorney / Criminal Prosecutor for the City of Santa Ana, California. Michelle Garmong believes that she is better served in private practice with her continuing goal of obtaining fairness, equity and justice through advocating her clients' rights and legal positions.
