Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My daughter was appointed a conservator over funds from a settlement. Over a course of about 5 years the attorney/conservator charge her close to $8000. The settlement was only $20000. Do these fees sound excessive? She has not signed anything yet as the forms she received from the conservator asked for her to waive her rights and accepts what was left. Is there anything she can do that would not continue to rack up the bill. We were thinking about having the judge review the fees to ensure they were fair but we are concerned it might end up costing even more.

The judge will review the fees anyway, so I would ask to see the accounting. Sounds a bit steep, but one never knows until it is audited.
